Hello friends, I'm Arif Çam. I am from Amasya. I am a 4th year student at the Department of Biosystems Engineering. Biosystems Engineering has been providing education in Taşlıçiftlik Campus, within the Faculty of Agriculture since 2009. Biosystems Engineering is a branch of engineering that includes the broad application of engineering sciences to biological systems and processes. Our department consists of Land and Water Resources, Energy Systems in Agriculture, Machinery Systems in Agriculture and Agricultural Structures. In short, it aims to train self-confident, qualified engineers who can work effectively with a sense of responsibility in agriculture, biology, environment and similar fields. In our department, fundamental engineering courses such as Statics, Thermodynamics, Machine Elements, Topography, Computer Aided Drawing and Design and agricultural courses for plant and animal production are provided. In this way, engineers who have the competence to produce solutions to the problems to be encountered in a wide system consisting of living and non-living beings are trained. In our department, we have electronic instrumentation, measurement information, irrigation and drainage, biological material, soil tillage mechanics and drying laboratories. In addition to these, we also have a hangar that houses agricultural machinery and equipment. With the support that we received, studies such as the development of smart irrigation systems, the development of autonomous vehicles and a prototype greenhouse automation system were carried out. In our department, internships are carried out for 45 work days. Internships can be done in the summer term of the 2nd year and up to the 2nd term of the 4th year. In the last year, graduation projects are carried out within the scope of the Graduation Work course. Students carry out projects such as the development of smart irrigation systems, the development of autonomous vehicles, the development of a greenhouse automation system with the support they receive. In addition, we have an ongoing agricultural drone project. After graduating from the department, it is possible to work in public institutions such as State Hydraulic Works, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Special Provincial Administrations, in land consolidation companies, irrigation and drainage companies, biogas production facilities, agricultural machinery and tractor industry. I have a special interest in both agriculture and technological developments, and Biosystem Engineering combines these two in an integrated structure. During my university preference period, I chose this university primarily because it is a safe, peaceful and agricultural city, there is easy access to the campus, and most importantly, the university is a rising and developing university. After graduation, I want to complete my postgraduate education and improve myself academically and contribute to our country by directing the agriculture of the future in this field. As a university with a green campus, you can choose this university because of its student-centered approach, rich library resources, and modern social life areas and facilities. My advice to candidates who will choose Biosystems Engineering is to meet with our professors who are competent in their fields, to inquire, to think analytically, to synthesize, to produce solutions to problems and to choose our department in order to become well-equipped engineers. I wish good luck to those who will take the exam. We welcome you to Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University.
